Form & Function
This project's foundation is based upon a relationship between form and function as a critical architectural theme. This creates the idea of whether the building's form should be independent of its function or not. This also creates a new perspective on the designers intended message through conceptual combinations and methods.

Preliminary Designs

Mechanism & Analogy
For my mechanism, I decided to utilize the simple yet complex form and movement of a Winged Corkscrew. I used its mechanism of rising and lowering as a base for the foundation on my bridge that will lift and then lower. In order to sustain and mechanically function I also added a pulley system that does the heavy lifting on this concept.
